DID HITLER SNUB JESSE OWENS?

By winning four gold medals at the 1936 Olympics in Berlin, African- American athlete Jesse Owens made Adolf Hitler’s idea of Aryan supremacy seem hollow. By the standards of his own ideology, it would have made sense for the Führer to snub Owens, but that didn’t actually happen.

Owens raced to his first gold, in the 100m sprint final, on the second day of competition at the games, By this time, after being criticised for only congratulating German competitors, Hitler had decided not to congratulate any of the successful athletes personally.
