The Hanbury name has been synonymous with hunting in Leicestershire for well over a century. Evan Hanbury became a Cottesmore master in 1900; his grandson James took on the role at the Belvoir in 1947 and James’s son Joss first joined the Cottesmore mastership in 1981. Joss was a joint-master of both the Cottesmore and the Quorn for some years before concentrating solely on the Quorn, where he has been a vital part of the mastership for a total of twenty five seasons.
