What’s new in Mail?
You can now schedule emails and even unsend emails that you have just sent out.
01 Set email response reminders
If you have an email that you need to respond to, but you can’t do so currently, swipe right on the email in your inbox and tap on the new ‘Later’ option. You will then be able to set yourself a reminder to come back to the email.
02 Schedule your emails
After composing an email, you may not want to send it immediately. Long-press on the Send button to bring up a menu of scheduling options. These include ‘Send Now’, ‘Send 9:00 Tonight’ and ‘Send Later’ – which lets you schedule an exact time and date to send the email.
03 Unsend an email
In iOS 16, if you send an email and then instantly regret it, you can retract it, if you’re quick. When you return to your inbox after sending an email you will see the ‘Undo Send’ option at the bottom. Tap this to cancel the send.
04 Increase ‘unsend’ time limit
If you want to unsend an email then you have to act quickly. However, you can give yourself a little more time by going to Settings>Mail, tapping ‘Undo Send Delay’ and then changing it to a maximum of 30 seconds.
