Set some Trap tracks with Modular Rhythms
Take a closer look at how to emulate modern musical styles with GarageBand’s newest sound pack
We’ll highlight the Modular Rhythms pack applied to drums from Dez, building up a recognisably Trap-like example with additional loops
GarageBand regularly introduces tools to help emulate the sounds of fresh, new genres. Most recently this included the Modular Rhythms instrument pack made available in the 10.4.7 update that dropped in November. This is an optional free download that adds electronic drum kit patches, best used when applied to Drummer tracks. Some of the sounds here are suited nicely for Trap music, a popular hip-hop variant characterised by sparse synthetic beats. Combining this pack with Dez, GarageBand’s resident Trap Drummer, is a great way to produce passable Trap-style percussion.
