How did you first discover manga, and why did it resonate with you?
I actually discovered anime because of Taylor Swift. I owe her everything. I was in third grade when I was searching for Taylor Swift AMVs [anime music videos] and came across one featuring Shugo Chara. I remember thinking, “Whaaaaat? Why does this girl have pink hair and why does the boy have cat ears?”
