Scottish Independence and the Fight Fascism in England are Two Sides of the Same Coin

THE ONLY thing necessary for the triumph of evil is I for good men to do nothing.” This quote by Edmund Burke has been on my mind ever since I watched the horrific scenes that unfolded in London on March 29th. There are some in the independence movement who view Brexit as an English problem. They say we ought not to concern ourselves with what is happening down there and instead focus on Scottish independence. I have to categorically disagree with this suggestion. Wherever we witness the rise of fascism it is our duty to stand against it. The tide is rising and it is naive to believe it will stop when it reaches the Scottish border. Hate is a pernicious entity -much like a mouse eating away at a brick wall there is no predicting when the whole wall will come tumbling down.
