Westminster Hour
BY ANDY PATTERSON
Sixty Minutes Is A Long Time In Politics
A NEW drama from the writer of the hit play 3000 Trees: The Death of Mr William MacRae, is set to take a stab at political entitlement and the tabloid press at this year’s Edinburgh Fringe…
Andy Paterson ’s new play, the cheekily titled Westminster Hour, finds us spending an hour in the company of Home Secretary Archie Cornwall, a charming player of the Westminster game with a past that may need to be kept under wraps.
Enter Fiona Myles, a once disgraced BBC news anchor, who now finds herself editing a popular national tabloid newspaper. Myles and Cornwall were once lovers, but now they face each other off as a long hidden scandal at a London children’s home threatens to send the skeletons rattling out of their closets.
