Scene from Bailando Con Margot
This film from director Arturo Santana
spans genres,
from
neo-noir
to melodrama to musicals. Playing with colour and cinematography to depict each chapter of Margot’s life, from 1918 through to 1959, this visually stunning film captures different eras of Havana’s history in glorious film noir fashion.

THE SECOND Havana Glasgow Film Festival has just announced its long awaited new programme for movie fans.
Building on last years’ phenomenal success organisers are extending its run from seven to ten days this November and due to demand increasing the total number of films on offer.
This year HGFF features a motion film day to remember focusing on Cuba’s low-budget film festival (Cine Pobre). Festival Director, Eirene Houston was asked to join the Cine Pobre panel of judges earlier this year, and has brought back a selection of the winners to show – including the overall winner, an American film – Tangerine – shot entirely on a smartphone!
