A very warm welcome to Issue 17 of Air-Style Magazine
We think issue 17 is our best yet, its crammed with some amazing VWs from all over the world. Our cover car is a something different, a proper custom build belonging to Patrice Massines. Read all about how he built this amazing ‘Frankenstein’ Hebmuller.
There is nothing square about a Squareback as far as team Air-Style is concerned, and we have a stunning example of these often overshadows members of the Volkswagen family where owner Nicholas Cow Wing gives us a guided tour of his pride and joy.
Air-Style’s resident Bus expert David Eccles gives us the low down on VWs High Top Van. It’s a fascinating story and you can read all about it. Talking of fascinating stories from the archives, Richard Copping takes us back to 1957 in his ever popular ‘Brochure Line’ series.
Exciting new feature starting this issue, Cover Story. Spencer combines his love of VWs and music and each issue we discover the story behind album covers featuring VWs on the cover. He will write about the artist, the music and most importantly, the VW. First up is Bob Dylan’s iconic album, The Freeweelin’ Bob Dylan. All this and loads more are awaiting you in the pages ahead, with a unique selection of Air-cooled eye candy from around the globe! We are super proud of this issue, and all issues, and we hope you enjoy it.

Like many great origin stories - the idea of Air-Style VW Magazine was conceived in a pub. Four like-minded friends knew that they weren't alone in their love for all things Volkswagen. They felt there was a gap in the market for the many that shared their passion, and believed that they could provide a service that speaks to the people in love with the cars, vans, music and lifestyle that makes the VW fandom so unique. Throughout the various pub meetings that followed, the premise grew from a concept into a fully functioning business plan. Their mission was simple… to provide VW enthusiasts with a dedicated publication in which they can learn more about their beloved brand, and share their experiences with other VW devotees.
Fast forward to today, and Air-Style VW Magazine has surpassed expectations. Proud to pair their own passion with fellow VW enthusiasts - Air-Style VW’s success has stemmed from the creators being genuine fans of the brand.
