ADVENTURE BIKES TESTED
Adventure bikes and gravel racing may seem like another niche in an already crowded market, but the more we ride them the more we love this new breed of bikes designed for all kinds of terrain. With our network of
ever more congested and often poorly surfaced roads, these bikes allow you to go somewhere new, try something different and to enjoy riding without the constant manic traffic that many areas suffer from. If you want to go off road, why not just get a mountain bike? Well, what adventure
bikes offer is the ability to nip off onto a forest road, bridleway or back lane but still cover ground quickly and efficiently. They’re the kind of bikes that
inspire you to leave the Garmin at home, and instead of always having an eye on speed, power, heart rate, your rides are measured in smiles. We took our trio of test bikes to the Ridgeway, a prehistoric trail through the Chilterns that claims to be the oldest road in Britain and mixed in a variety of surfaces to test them to the full.
