A new vision
GEORGE FIELDING
The winner of a RIBA South West award 2019, this contemporary take on an old agricultural building has been adjusted dramatically since it was first imagined in 2013. New British Design were approached to create this striking modern extension to a grade II listed farmhouse on the footprint of an old part of the building — flattened during the Second World War. The planning application was submitted to the council and all seemed to be on track, until the client suffered a severe spinal stroke, leaving her permanently paralysed from the neck down.
