It’s been a while since Shalamar, The O’Jays and Maze have felt like safe names to drop, but Durand Jones & The Indications intend to change that. Having cut their teeth on two albums of substantial late 60s/early 70s soul revivalism, this five -piece have time travelled forward a decade or so to add the best of that deliciously feelgood era when disco and soul crosspollinated. They announced this subtle revitalisation with Witchoo, and if it’s not the sound of the summer by the time you read this then 2021’s truly let us down. Like William DeVaughan’s Be Thankful
