Meta, which owns Facebook and WhatsApp, has fired two dozen staff in Los Angeles for spending meal credits on household items instead of food. As a perk the company offers staff $20 for breakfast, $25 for lunch and $25 for dinner. Many of those sacked were on six-figure salaries. We’re not sure what’s more astonishing: Meta’s naive generosity or the greed of those caught.
