One of my favourite annual traditions is the round-up of the most commonly used (and therefore weakest) passwords. Although this list always contains the same predictable entries, I’m still curious to see if there are any new trends.
According to password manager NordPass, which compiled the top 200 most used passwords of 2024 (www. snipca.com/53257), UK web users remain most partial to ‘qwerty’, ‘123456’ and of course ‘password’. The top of the global list is much the same, though further down I spotted quirkier logins such as ‘aaaaaaaa’, ‘superman’ and ‘princess’.
