STAR LETTER
I’m calling Microsoft’s bluff over Windows 10
As a Windows 10 user, my strategy was always to wait until the last minute before deciding whether to keep using it or upgrade to Windows 11. I’ve read all your excellent advice, and was genuinely uncertain until Issue 720 dropped through my letterbox and I read the news story on page 6 (‘Microsoft U-turns on Windows 10 support, but UK misses out’, pictured). The implications of such a dramatic reversal in policy are obvious: Microsoft will eventually have to extend support for all Windows 10 users, no matter where they live. It’s morally indefensible to refuse extended support to people just because they live outside a particular economic zone.
