Before I came out, I fell into the traditional trappings of heteronormative femininity. I guess I subconsciously wanted men to think of me as pretty, and that took priority. But as soon as you challenge the idea of being valued according to men’s preferences… that is liberating! My wardrobe rapidly and radically changed, and I’ve never felt better.
