Make new shelters in your garden to attract beneficial wildlife. To draw a diverse mix of creatures, use frames containing different materials, for example, bunches of hollow sticks, small logs, straw and old bricks – these will house insects such as spiders, bees, ladybirds and beetles that predate other bugs and, in turn, create a healthy eco-system.
Stuff the frames tightly so the contents don’t dislodge when they dry out. Add log piles in sheltered corners of your garden to encourage hedgehogs and frogs.
