Since I was first invited to contribute to this fine publication, I have received very little of what might be called feedback regarding the contents of the articles – not that I expected any. One gentleman was kind enough to recall our face-to-face conversation regarding his splendid radio-controlled Nautilus submarine model and a lady even went so far as to write to the editor asking if the squid base that I hadn’t used in my build of a model of the same vessel was available. It was and was duly posted to her, although its arrival remains a matter of conjecture.
A published letter to the editor suggested that the entire topic of models be dropped from the magazine as the correspondent wasn’t interested in it and I suppose that’s fair comment. I even received an email from a colleague from my advertising days asking ‘if these were my ramblings’.
That was about it until quite recently when an acquaintance pointed out that a number of recent articles had covered collectable toys rather than the construction of stuff and he assumed that was because I’d lost my modelling mojo.
