Welcome to our vintage glamour issue, celebrating the glitz and good cheer of the festive season! Like many of you, we're hoping for a more mindful Christmas this year, filled with handmade gifts, gatherings with friends and family, good food, and some quiet time too – perhaps with an opportunity for some calming crochet.

This issue features some beautiful designs to wear throughout the festive season and beyond, from a timeless dress to a pineapple stitch capelet for covering up on a night out, to a statement shawl using hand-dyed yarns for adding something special to a simple outfit.

We've included a few handmade gift ideas too, as there's still plenty of time to make something thoughtful to give, including a sweet reindeer toy and an adorable polar bear blanket, but we hope you'll take things easy this year and create decorations, accessories and garments that will fill you with joy – not just for this Christmas – but for many years to come.

We're also embarking on part two of the Jane Crowfoot and Style Craft Indigo Dreams Blanket CAL, making the first of our floral motifs and starting work on the patchwork panels.
