A player stands between two small barns playing a flute for their livestock. As you do.
We’ve spent decades inheriting dozens of middleof-nowhere farms with overgrown fields and abandoned sheds in desperate need of rehabilitation. On acres of forgotten land, we’ve methodically tilled, planted and harvested until we’ve grown popular with the locals. Our reputation as an expert farmer earns us a modest living, and we’re often up ploughing before sunrise, sometimes working until a neighbour finds us face-down in a pile of turnips.
Just kidding. We can hardly keep a cactus alive – though if we’re allowed to count time spent in Harvest Moon, the résumé still stands. Some of our earliest “just five more minutes” pleas were so we could stay glued to Harvest Moon: Back to Nature, eager to see another heart event, attend fishing festivals, or name more pets. As bright-eyed children, the farm was a brand-new toy with dozens of potential friends. As adults, we’ve watered a few too many tomatoes. The fascination with Harvest Moon’s residents and their day-to-day schedules dulled, but we kept hoping another farm life game would make us fall in love with a quaint settlement full of villagers again. Finally, that community magic is here once more in Roots of Pacha.
