When Sovol launched its SV06, it was hailed as a Prusa slayer – a clone that replicated the renowned bed-slinger at a fraction of the cost. However, with the release of the more advanced Prusa MK4, where does the SV06 stand now?
It remains a decent, affordable entry-level printer. It combines elements of Prusa’s open source i3 printer with Creality technology. This borrowing and building upon each other’s open source hardware is a common practice among 3D printing companies, as long as proper attribution and file sharing are observed.
