Living Blues #252 (December/January) focuses on the Soul of the Blues by looking at four modern soul singers. Our cover feature is on soul revivalist Lee Fields. Fields has amassed a huge following in the last decade with a string of solid records with his band the Expressions, but Fields’ career dates back to the 1960s. Southern Soul survivor Carl Sims is now one of the top draws in the market. We sit down with Sims on the heals of a recent lifetime achievement award and reminisce about his long career. Virginia-based southern soul artist Big G has been making a name for himself over the past 20 years as a powerful songwriter and singer. With a string of regional hits Big G is poised to make his move nation wide.
