Love them or hate them, there’s no ignoring the GE-built Class 70. Ordered by Freightliner in the late 2000s, they differ wildly from other contemporary locomotive designs, with a focus on efficiency rather than looks. Colas Rail took on a further fleet of ‘70s’, bringing extra variety to the class, in terms of liveries and operations.
