In spite of a variety of studios trying for thirty five years, with various degrees of success, we are yet to receive a videogame that truly delivers on the fantasy of being Spider-Man; one that gives an opportunity to confront and navigate the duality at the core of the character, the chance to embody the life of Peter Parker, and experience the insurmountable responsibility that exists in his role as the friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man. However, Insomniac Games, leading development on 2018’s PlayStation 4 exclusive Marvel’s Spider-Man, believes it has what it takes to finally deliver what we’ve spent so many years waiting for – a videogame that can capture that core Spider-Man fantasy, and everything that it should encompass.
