HARRY PLOTTERS
ANOTHER week, another day in court, and no sooner had Prince Harry lost his case over his security measures when visiting the UK than his legal team were back in the high court last week for a hearing in the case he is bringing against Associated Newspapers, publisher of the
Daily Mail
and
Mail on Sunday.
The prince is joined in this particular litigation by Baroness Lawrence (mother of Stephen), Elton John and David Furnish, Liz Hurley, Sadie Frost and former Lib Dem MP Simon Hughes, who between them accuse the Mail titles of commissioning a battalion of private investigators to undertake unlawful activities including voicemail hacking, tapping phones, blagging medical and other confidential records and even burglary to order between 1993 and 2018. The case is largely based on the Mail titles’ past employment of private investigators who have been found at previous trials to have undertaken unlawful work for the newspapers in the Mirror group (Eyes passim).
