The odd getting even?
Barry R Clarke
In the village of Little Point, there are six houses in a row numbered 1 to 6, no two digits being identical. Ever since the houses were built, members of the Odd family have inhabited 1, 3, and 5, while members of the Even family have lived in 2, 4, and 6. However, the families have always been in conflict over whether the six-digit number given by the row of houses should be an odd or an even number. Despite the bickering, the houses still have their original numbering 123456 which, of course, makes an even number.
