CHELTENHAM COUNTDOWN
Many of the leading contenders for major Festival honours will be having their final prep race in the weeks ahead, starting off at Cheltenham on Trials Day (January 28th) where Thistlecrack is expected to line-up in the Cotswold Chase, over 3m1½f. Last year’s World Hurdle winner was spectacular in making it four from four over fences in the King George at Kempton on Boxing Day and is now an odds-on shot with most firms to land the Gold Cup in March. It’s hard to imagine too many will want to take him on in late January and he is almost certain to be sent off at prohibitive odds.
