HELL IS OTHER PEOPLE
Dreadful Thing To Do
October is horror month, and Halloween sees the return of genre films to the big screen. Question is, will you go? Two of the best movies of the year, Saint Maud and Relic, hit screens in October, along with buzzy Polish folk horror The Other Lamb by Ma¡gorzata Szumowska; her English language debut, it centres on an all-female cult with a male leader. Then, having run its August event entirely digitally (more on that in a sec), FrightFest is back with a live event at the Cineworld in Leicester Square, opening with Train To Busan Presents: Peninsula on 22 October. In the US, it’s a different story. Nia DaCosta’s Candyman reboot has been pushed back to 2021. And while Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead’s latest Synchronic is getting a theatrical run on 23 October, the two issued a statement saying they themselves wouldn’t go to an indoor cinema right now, so they can’t encourage anyone else to. If you do choose to head out, make sure you stay safe.
