I’ve been in running long enough to remember the devastating effect the Foot and Mouth epidemic hand on events in the countryside. Covid-19 is not too dissimilar. Having said that, I’ve seen a few businesses and races go down the plughole which is heartbreaking because I know how much people put into their races.
“We cancelled all our races from May to mid August and, to be honest, I don’t think racing as we’ve known will be back until social distancing is stopped. I have no idea how long that will take. I think there is a massive appetite to return to the trails, but I think there’s also a fear of infection so WSR will wait it out and come back when runners are ready.” whitestarrunning.co.uk
