Writing Magazine presents a selection of current submission calls from publishers. We strongly recommend that you read back issues, familiarise yourself with their guidelines before submitting and check websites for submission details.
Author and anthology editor Mitzi Szereto is seeking original true crime stories for the sixth volume in her true crime franchise, The Best New True Crime Stories: Unsolved Crimes & Mysteries. All submissions should be non-fiction accounts of unsolved crimes and mysteries, which may have taken place anywhere in the world. All submissions must be accurate and fact-checked. Submissions between 4,000 and 7,000 words are welcomed from international writers. First person accounts from people connected to the crimes are particularly welcomed. In the first instance, contact Mitzi with a brief pitch for a story idea. Writers whose pieces are accepted will receive a fee of $130 and two copies of the anthology.
