HLife is all about the journey, not the destination, so they say. It’s about taking time to appreciate what you have. Stopping to smell the roses. Yet, I often don’t notice the scent of the roses at all.
Wait, don’t worry! I haven’t got Covid. I just never seem to put nose to petal.
When I got an agent after years of trying, I thought ‘I won’t celebrate until I get a book deal.’ Then when I got a book deal, ‘I’ll celebrate the publication.’ Publication day was a bit flat due to Covid, so I decided I’d celebrate the next book ‘properly.’ But when that came around, I didn’t bother doing much either.
