For nearly ten years of my life I have been sharing my head space with a very scary and (it seemed at times) totally unhinged, savage woman. Frances di Plino has been an uncomfortable passenger on my writing journey, but (damn her) was more successful at getting a number of books actually written than the real me. I spent so much time giving Frances writing space to pen her crime novels that other projects I’ve long dreamed about have had to be put on hold.
I say put on hold; it’s more like they have been packed away in a box, wrapped in chains, dumped down a mine shaft, and concreted over. From wartime sagas to children’s fantasy, any ideas outside crime have been shelved because there are simply not enough hours in the day.
