TOP PLOTTER
OUR TOP PLOTTERS
Last summer we launched a competition to find our Top Plotters, with the top three winning some great prizes and all being featured in Kitchen Garden magazine this year. Here we feature one of our runners-up, an allotmenteer from County Durham
Plot 42 in full bloom – calendula, rhubarb and lush green veg thrive in raised beds made from recycled materials
Philippa and her plot – a colourful, productive space packed with vegetables, flowers and wildlife-friendly features
PHILIPPA ELLIS COUNTY DURHAM
Philippa is passionate about growing her own food and has transformed her council allotment into a prize-winning plot. With raised beds, recycled materials and clever companion planting, she grows everything from carrots and chillies to asparagus and potatoes – and even finds space for a wildlife pond and hedgehog rescue scheme.
