BEVAN FRENCH produced a performance for the ages on Friday as Salford failed to recover from their Wembley heartache.
The Wigan fullback scored an incredible hat-trick of tries featuring his brilliant speed, skill and footwork and he was complemented by two tries from Liam Farrell, Sam Powell and Oliver Gildart as the Warriors took advantage of Salford’s evident hangover after their Challenge Cup defeat.
It’s actually very unusual for a side to fail to bounce back from a Challenge Cup Final defeat, with the Red Devils becoming the first side in twelve years to lose their next game after a trip to the national stadium.
But, as we’ve said so many times recently, this year is like no other and the pressures that are being applied to every squad is huge. Salford simply couldn’t maintain that intensity throughout their entire squad.
