CRISIS? What crisis?
Okay, that is said in jest somewhat. Two victories in 72 hours does not turn a disappointing season into a satisfying one for Wakefield Trinity: far from it, in fact.
But in a week when the club, its players and, most importantly, its coach, had its character questioned, there has least been some sort of a response from Trinity. Which is all you could have asked for when those midweek reports emerged.
Two very different kind of victories, too. Thursday’s win against Huddersfield was hard-earned, it was gritty and it was filled with character.
This, while no doubt just as satisfying for Wakefield supporters, was much more flamboyant and extravagant, with nine stunning tries proving enough to defeat Hull KR in the battle to avoid the wooden spoon.
