LEZIGNAN OVERTURN LIMOUX
FRENCH ROUND-UP WITH MIKE RYLANCE
Under new coach Aurélien Cologni, Lézignan posted their first win of the season at the expense of neighbours Limoux, who suffered their first defeat, going down 42-30 on their own ground.
In a high-scoring and entertaining game, Limoux took the lead through Maxime Péault but not for long. Former Catalans Dragons prop Antoni Maria, on his debut for Lézignan, was held up over the line before winger Thomas Soler, then ex-St Estève-XIII Catalan halfback Joan Guasch, from a break by dummyhalf Thomas Lacans, both went over. Limoux were guilty of some defensive lapses which led to tries for Valentin Ferret and Maxime Benausse, ex-Toulouse winger Tony Maurel hitting back to reduce the deficit to 22-14 at half-time.
