THACKERAY TREBLE SENDS EAGLES SOARING
SHEFFIELD EAGLES 30
LONDON BRONCOS 10

A SPECTACULAR secondhalf hat-trick from Anthony Thackeray helped Sheffield Eagles continue their forward momentum and lift them into the Championship top six.
Thackeray, whom coach Mark Aston described as “getting better with age”, combined with fellow veteran Quentin Laulu-Togaga’e, who claimed their side’s other two touchdowns, to lead a thoroughly competent and ultimately comprehensive display which overcame a stubborn but still winless London outfit.
The capital club will have taken positives from their previous three games -picking up a draw and two narrow defeats, both two-point losses to York and Bradford -and again were in the mix for the first 50 minutes, following a resolute first half defensive display and enterprising spell after the restart.
