DIVISION ONE
KELLS became the Division One champions – without having to raise a sweat.
The Cumbrians, who had already completed their fixtures, headed the standings but would have closed as runners-up had rivals HULL DOCKERS managed to avoid defeat at WIGAN ST PATRICKS.
That looked likely with four minutes left when the Green and Golds, who had seen an early 10-0 lead turned into a two-point deficit, were level at 22-22, Dan Suddaby having landed an equalising penalty-goal.
But Pats snatched a 26-22 victory, and a home elimination promotion semifinal against West Bowling, with a Jack Sproat touchdown, closing with six tries to four despite having Dean Zammit sinbinned on the hour for a high tackle.
