WARRINGTON WOLVES ensured they ended a difficult Super League season on a high, after battling to beat a youthful Salford side in humid conditions.
It was an untidy affair at times, with several tries disallowed over the course of the game, but Warrington and Daryl Powell will not care about that. They finish the season in eleventh place, their lowest finish of the Super League era.
Meanwhile, attention now turns to the play-offs for Salford. Other results on Saturday meant that the Red Devils will travel to Huddersfield on Saturday to start their play-off campaign.
Salford named six debutants for this clash. Josh Rourke, Joseph Coope-Franklin, Myles Dalton-Harrop, Jack Stevens, Daniel Spencer-Tonks and Henry Davies all made the step up to the first team. In total, Salford made 15 changes from last week’s win over Castleford, with only King Vuniyayawa and Tyler Dupree keeping their places.
