ART CLUB CHALLENGE

If you would like to see your work published here, take part in this month’s challenge, which invites you to paint a picture on the theme of ‘turning the lights on’. Send your image, its title, medium and dimensions to ingrid@tapc.co.uk by 14 February, titled ‘Leisure Painter February Challenge’ for your chance to feature in a forthcoming issue.

Stephen Ansell Autumn, watercolour, 15¾x12½in. (40x32cm)
Michael Berry Sheffield Park, watercolour, 10x14in. (25.5x35.5cm). ‘The National Trust property of Sheffield Park Gardens in West Sussex is renowned for its autumn display of colour. This year lived up to its reputation, which I endeavoured to capture in my watercolour. The image is one of several opportunities taken from the upper lake towards the house, which hopefully captures a glimpse of the splendour of this annual display.’
Jeni Drake Autumn Jewels, watercolour and Inktense, 16x12in. (40.5x30.5cm). ‘This is my first still life using my own photograph, which included some foliage from my garden. I used Inktense pencils and a Clingfilm watercolour wash for the background.’
Julie Wood Autumn Splendour, watercolour, 8¼x11½in. (21x29cm). ‘I’m a member of Chevin Watercolour Group near Otley, West Yorkshire, and we meet on Tuesday mornings. I was inspired by a demo in Leisure Painter, December 2021 by Jackie Garner.’
