LEARNING OBJECTIVES
How to look at a subject’s negative shapes
How to create monotonal underpaintings
Build drawing skills and confidence
Marks made on paper, either by using strokes made with a pencil, or brush and watercolour, can look very similar and I have taken the subject of garden steps to demonstrate how you can experiment and have fun with both. We will be working in various stages from one to the other, altering format or content as the exercise progresses.
