Firefox hits 100
Mozilla celebrates version 100.0 of its famed browser.
Mozilla recently celebrated the 100th version of its open-source web browser, Firefox. After 17 years, Firefox remains one of the most popular browsers, despite Google Chrome’s dominance, and as the Firefox team state in a blog post celebrating the release (which you can read at https://mzl.la/3kWIxID), that using its web browser “contributes directly to a better web, keeping it open and accessible to all.” Firefox 100.0 brings an improved Picturein-Picture mode, with wide support for video captions, better spell checking and installation process. This new version looks to be great for media, with HDR video support on Mac, and hardware-accelerated AV1 video decoding.
