Measuring STRETCH
Find out how to measure the amount of stretch in your fabric
TAKING MEASUREMENTS
Start by folding the fabric in half along the grain. With pins, mark a 4" section. Try to avoid the edge of the fabric in order to get a more accurate measurement. Selvedge and borders tend to have a different stretch. Hold one pin aligned with the zero mark and stretch the fabric until it starts resisting. The trick here is to not overstretch it; you want to measure its natural stretch.
