In macOS Big Sur, nearly every element of the Finder can be customised, from the folders and shortcuts in the sidebar and the buttons in the toolbar to the size of the icons and text displayed with each file. You can set your preferences to apply to a single folder or every folder you subsequently browse, based on your needs. You can even add a background picture if you like.
