IMac
Apple’s amazing all-in-one computer is a world-beater
The iMac has got the lot. A 24-inch 4.5K Retina-quality screen, a modern M3 Apple silicon processor, a crystal-clear 1080p FaceTime HD camera, a fantastic six-speaker system with force-cancelling woofers and more.
It looks gorgeous too, whichever of the seven available colours you choose.
Out of the box, three models are available, costing £1,399, £1,599 or £1,799. We recommend spending a little more and making a few customisations. If you regularly use apps for computer-aided design (CAD), video editing or other such high-needs tasks, you might want to upgrade to at least 16GB of unified memory. Before purchase is the only chance you’ll get – you can’t add memory after you’ve bought it. You can’t add storage either, but if you find you’re running out of space, an external drive is always an option. Other customisation options include adding a numeric keypad to the keyboard and swapping the Magic Mouse for a Magic Trackpad.
