NEKODA DAVIS
In 2012, the fresh-faced 19 year-old, Nekoda Davis entered London’s Excel Exhibition Centre with her life set to change forever. As an Olympic volunteer, she witnessed Gemma Gibbons defy the odds in winning a silver medal; the start of a personal dream she would go on to fulfil four years later.
Still only 25, Nekoda is one of the most promising judoka in the -57kg division. Perhaps against the odds, she qualified for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, before going on to win World Championship bronze – British Judo’s first World Championship medal since 2010 – just a year later. We caught up with Nekoda to discuss her amazing journey through judo and razor sharp focus heading towards Tokyo.
