To remove the battery from the case, you’ll need to use an opening pick to lift it up.
Before starting repairs, take your watch off the charger and power it down.
The Ultra is sealed using four screws, a first for an Apple Watch. Though they are fiddly pentalobe screws, it’s better than glue.
