Blueprint a part-by-part guide to building a better pc
THE BUILDS
THIS MONTH’S STREET PRICES...
BUDGET
EACH MONTH we try to reduce the overall price points of our builds. Thankfully, time is on our side, and plays an important role here. As the year continues, more sales are popping up while the current-gen gear increases with age. The cycle will inevitably repeat itself, but for now, we find ourselves being able to pick up the latest generation of components at reasonable prices. Retracting from our statement slightly already, we are keeping DDR4 RAM in the budget systems. This is due to our motherboard choices: these are powerful enough for these budget PCs, but bring our costs down significantly compared to using DDR5 RAM and compatible mobos.
Speaking of our RAM, we brought the PNY XLR8 Gaming EPIC-X RGB 16 GB DDR4-3600 in a few issues ago, and it remains in both the Intel and AMD machines. Again, it has more than enough juice to perform multiple tasks and keep the machine snappy, plus it’s $5 cheaper than last time!
