New Delhi is a sensory explosion – a sprawling, frantic mass of people, smells and racket that spills out in every direction. Traversing the city’s tangled, jam-packed streets is equal parts frustrating and exhilarating, but for Karan Katiyar, that barely contained chaos is home, and he ain’t about to let anyone talk trash about his town.
“I get very defensive about Delhi,” the Bloodywood guitarist, songwriter and founder says with a wide smile. “It gets a bad reputation because we tend to be the loudest and the rowdiest. But you’ve got to go with the flow. Everything is normal, nothing is out of place. It might seem like that but that’s how it is. I’ve been to other parts of India, but nothing feels as home as Delhi.”
