What makes this layout great?
“ Not to be deterred by all of the obstacles standing in his way, Andrew has used a wide range of skills to not only make a superb looking layout but also one which is fun to operate. Even in such a small space, there are plenty of movementsments available. ”
Our inner monologue can be a blessing and a curse when it comes to designing a model railway. It’s sometimes beneficial to talk through your ideas with yourself as it can help you to find some problems, but at the same time if your mind goes ‘I know! Why not construct a football stadium over here?’, it doesn’t help. For most of us, the thought is dismissed quickly with a ‘don’t be ridiculous’, but some among us are so determined that they find a way to make it work. Andrew Thomas is one such person and his love of football is regularly featured throughout his ‘OO’ gauge layout ‘Ewood’. This isn’t Match magazine though, so we’ll come back to the football side of the layout later.
